We are Compal ITS, focused on advancing perception and safety intelligence in transportation.

Compal Infrared Technology Systems (ITS) builds on more than 40 years of Compal’s engineering and manufacturing heritage, brings scale, rigor and reliability into the world of next generation vehicle safety. Our work focuses on infrared and AI-powered perception systems that enhance vehicle awareness when visibility is compromised. We work closely with OEMs and industry partners to integrate seamlessly into existing architectures, supporting development, validation, and readiness for emerging safety standards such as NHTSA, Global NCAP, IIHS, UNECE. With engineering teams across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, we support global deployment programs and deliver solutions that strengthen existing platforms, enabling safer mobility worldwide.

Our Mission: To provide quality safety systems to the transportation market, reducing accidents and saving lives.

The road ahead requires more than traditional vision. Compal ITS extends vehicle perception through infrared sensing and AI, helping vehicles respond earlier and supporting safer mobility within existing architectures and emerging safety standards.

Our Vision: To become the leading automotive Tier 1 innovator providing cost effective lifesaving safety systems.

Compal ITS envisions a world where every vehicle can see beyond human limitations, delivering reliable awareness in all conditions to protect the people who share the road. Our aim is to make advanced safety universal, bringing safer mobility from vision to reality.

We Value: Fostering collaborative innovation, appreciating, and respecting the diversity of our global community.

Mobility moves with us before it moves on wheels, shaped by the people who design, build, test, and experience it every day. Compal brings global automotive perspectives together across regions and disciplines to deliver technologies that serve and protect the communities who depend on safe, intelligent mobility.

Our history began with a vision for safer roads.

  • Our FoundationCompal ITS builds on infrared technologies first developed for defense applications in the 1980s. That early expertise supported the first production automotive night vision system in 2000, establishing a technical foundation that has continued to evolve for more than four decades.
  • Our BackgroundTo carry that legacy forward, we brought together the industry’s most experienced professionals, with more than 40 years of hands-on innovation in hardware design, electronics, perception, and functional safety. Supported by Compal’s decades of high-volume electronics and imaging expertise, the team focused on a clear challenge in modern ADAS: maintaining reliable classification in low light and reduced visibility conditions, when pedestrians and other vulnerable road users are most difficult to see.
  • Our Work TodayToday, we develop compact infrared cameras and AI perception software engineered for seamless integration into current vehicle platforms. Our technology enhances awareness in conditions where conventional sensors reach their limits, supporting development, validation, and alignment with emerging safety requirements such as FMVSS 127 and global NCAP standards. Through engineering teams across the United States, Europe, and Asia, we collaborate with global automakers to deliver perception solutions that scale across platforms and enable safer mobility worldwide.

Our Leadership: Guided by pioneers in intelligent sensing.
